See those perforated metal discs? These are Western Electric parts which had been used as rear vent covers on their cone speakers. Altec Lansing produced their versions of the W.E. drivers after 1950, but used only cloth for the rear vents. They must have received boxes of these metal discs from W.E. as they used them sporadically to hold fiberglass in place for several years.
